Who walk-in shower conversions are for
Most of the walk-in showers we build are part of a bathroom remodel, for homeowners who want to stay in the home they love for years to come: retirees in Scottsdale, Sun City and across the Valley, families planning for an aging parent, and anyone tired of stepping over a tub they never use. Done well, a walk-in shower is also simply a better shower — larger, brighter and easier to clean.
Built properly, not lined
Quick “bath-fitter” style products slide an acrylic liner over the old tub or wall. We take a different approach: we remove the tub, rebuild the shower floor with a sloped, waterproofed pan, and tile it like any shower in a full remodel. It takes longer than a one-day swap, and it lasts like the rest of your house.
Permits, planning and price
Moving a drain or valve is plumbing work, and we handle the permits it requires. We build walk-in showers as part of a bathroom remodel — most guest baths run $12,000 to $18,000 and most primary baths $16,000 to $25,000 — because the shower, tile, vanity and lighting look right when they are designed together. A conversion on its own is possible when it is built the same way; either way it starts with an in-home measure and a written price. See bathroom remodeling, our master bathroom remodels and the bathroom remodel cost guide. We build walk-in showers across the Phoenix metro — Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert and beyond. See the areas we serve, or visit our design showroom in Tempe.
